5 REASONS WHY YOU MUST LISTEN TO MANKIRAT AULAKH'S 'BADNAAM'

Every piece of art is the artist’s vision of the way he looks at the world. Be it a painter, writer, poet or a singer, an artist always draws inspiration from his own life experiences and puts it on show for the world to see. Something on similar terms seems to be the case with our Punjabi superstar Mankirat Aulakh who is back with his latest track ‘Badnaam’.

Now, before you jump to any conclusions, we are not trying to directly relate the theme of his new track with his own life but it certainly portrays how Mankirat sees an average kid’s life in Punjab, the different stages of life that he goes through, what goes on in that kid’s mind and how he lives in his fantasy world.

Portraying a kid’s initial years of life in a song is no easy task and Mankirat Aulakh should be applauded for this attempt. Mankirat deserves the praise because in a very comical manner he gives you the overall synopsis of teenagers in Punjab.

Here are the five reasons why you must listen to ‘Badnaam’:

  1. It will take you to a flashback of your own childhood

There are chances that you'll like this song for taking you to down the memory lane rather than anything else. As mentioned earlier, the song is take on an average teenager's life which will definitely take you back to past.

  2. When did you start to call names in Punjabi?

Though it may sound offensive but Punjabis are known for uttering 'gaalis' with every single sentence and most of the times it starts from one's own house. Give it a listen and there are chances you'll remember how you started with capital 'M' and 'B'.

  3. Feel the butterflies in your stomach again

There always comes a time in a teenager's life when he experiences his first crush. It could be some who lived across the street or maybe someone you saw at a party.

  4. Your first ਨੀਟ peg

Now, that's a touchy subject but believe it or not one way or the other, we all Punjabis have tried it.

  5. To remind you of Your Mother's love

That was a lie. Rather than the love, it's going to remind you of countless slaps your mother placed across your face.
