Punjab Police Cracks Down On Singers For Endorsing Gun Show In Their Song, Ranjit Bawa Praises The Initiative
There is no doubt about the fact that except a few artists, majority of Punjabi singers often resort to vulgar lyrics and outlandish show of weapons in their songs. Though, these songs may sound groovy and feet tapping to many, it also comes with its set of negative influence that encourages the youth on wrong track. Not only these songs are vulgar and non-meaningful, they are often derogatory which defeats the overall purpose of good music.
To handle this matter of vulgar lyrics and presence of drugs and weapons in songs recently, DGP of Punjab police came forward and directed SSP’s of all the districts to meet all the singers of their respective areas and appeal them to not promote drugs and weapons in their songs otherwise a serious action will be taken against that particular artist.
Famous Punjabi Singer Ranjit Bawa stepped forward to appreciate the step taken by Punjab Police and posted a picture of him with S.S.P of the area. The singer captioned the picture praising the Punjab Police for the initiative taken by them. The drive is not merely on papers as the police have already lodged an FIR against a Sangrur based singer who recently promoted weapons in his song titled ‘Vaardaat’.
