SARA GURPAL BECOMES THE FIRST PUNJABI CELEBRITY TO TAKE UP 'PADMAN' CHALLENGE, GETS CLICKED WITH A PAD
If the ongoing pictures of Bollywood celebrities holding sanitary napkins make you wonder what it is all about, then let us tell you that it’s actually a ‘Challenge’ posed by Akshay Kumar as part of a unique promotional stint for his upcoming movie ‘Padman’. Even though the idea may sound absurd to many, but our Bollywood celebrities are happily getting clicked holding sanitary napkins.
Sara Gurpal, one of the hottest divas of Pollywood has become the first celebrity from Punjabi Entertainment Industry to take up the ‘Padman’ challenge. The ‘Dangar Doctor Jelly’actress who recently ventured into singing, took up the challenge posed on her by makeup artist Kay Dee. Sara Gurpal captioned the image saying, “So here I'm accepting @kaydeemakeup 's challenge. "Yes that's a pad in my hand and I don't feel weird. It's natural, period. " As a custom, Sara challenged model ‘Oshin Brar’ and actress ‘Ruhani Sharma’ to get clicked with a pad. While Ruhani Sharma has already accepted Sara’s challenge, Oshin Brar is yet to take her call.
Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Padman’, written and directed by R. Balki is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented a low-cost sanitary pad-making machine and is credited for innovating grassroots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India.
Even though some may frown upon the idea of getting clicked with a pad in hands, Sara Gurpal taking up the challenge certainly proves that irrespective of the conservatives, she’s committed to do her bit for the society.
