Aamir Khan believes 'Bhuvan' in 'Lagaan' shouldn't have been clean-shaven; here's why
The blockbuster film 'Lagaan' was one of Aamir Khan’s most successful films as not only did it achieve success at the box office but also turned out to be the third Indian film ever to bag an Oscar nomination.

During a recent conversation with IMBD, Aamir Khan revealed that he didn't want his character 'Bhuvan' to be clean-shaven besides, he has a practical reason for the same.
Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial, 'Lagaan', which was released in 2001, featured Aamir Khan, Gracy Singh, British actors Paul Blackthorne and Rachel Shelley among the others. The film had a huge star cast and was set in colonial India.

The film focused on a group of villagers in a drought-hit village who challenged the Britishers for a cricket match in an order to waive their taxes off. Aamir Khan essayed the role of Bhuvan, the villager who challenged the Britishers and captained his team.
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan said that the film showed that it was a drought-hit village which means there was no sense for his character 'Bhuvan' to waste water on shaving.

He said that he would insist Ashutosh that the character of 'Bhuvan' cannot be clean-shaven. "I said yahaan paani nahi hai (there is no water here). It’s not been raining here. They are suffering and this guy shaves every day. He has got some secret water supply,” Aamir was quoted as saying.
