ACE SHOOTER HEENA SIDHU WINS GOLD AT COMMONWEALTH SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP
Heena Sidhu, ace Indian sports shooter has made the country proud by winning Gold at Commonwealth Shooting Championships. Sidhu, who became the first Indian pistol shooter to reach number one in world rankings by the International Shooting Sport Federation, won the gold in women’s 10 meters pistol event.
This is to be noted that recently, Heena Sidhu, along with Jitu Rai had won Gold for India in ISSF World Cup Final in New Delhi. Born in Ludhiana, Punjab, Heena Sidhu’s Father was a National sports shooter.
Conferred with Arjuna Award in 2014, Heena Sidhu once came to the limelight for pulling out of Asian Air Gun Championships in Tehran because Iran made the wearing of the hijab mandatory for female participants.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate the shooter saying “Well done, HeenaSidhu10, on your golden effort at the Commonwealth Shooting Championship. You’ve made the country proud.”
