Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’ is making the news every now and then. After roping in Punjabi superstar Ammy Virk for the role of Balwinder Singh Sandhu in the film, the makers have now reportedly signed well-known singer Hardy Sandhu in the film.

Hardy Sandhu is a popular name among music lovers for his songs like ‘Kya Baat Ay’, ‘Hornn Blow’, ‘Soch’ and ‘Joker’ among others.

According to media reports, Hardy is signed to play the role former cricketer Madan Lal in the film. Madan Lal was responsible for taking the crucial wicket of Sir Vivian Richards during the final match of 1983 World Cup against West Indies.

This would be Harrdy Sandhu’s first Bollywood project. He has previously appeared in two Punjabi movies – ‘Yaaran Da Katchup’ and ‘Mera Mahi NRI’.

Interestingly, Harrdy is a big fan of cricket. Not many know that he was a part of the Under-19 team for Punjab.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film ‘83’ is based on the life of former cricketer Kapil Dev who led the Indian side to lift the historic 1983 World Cup. In the film, Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Kapil Dev.

The film is slated to release in 2020.
