Sooryavanshi, starring Akshay Kumar, was launched last week to a resounding response from both the crowd and reviewers. After a strong start, the film's business in both the domestic and international markets grew significantly over the first weekend. As the first big-budget Bollywood blockbuster to open after the blockade, all eyes have been on the box office. Sooryavanshi has been performing better than predicted.
In fact, in the span of three days, Sooryavanshi made nearly Rs. 100 crore worldwide. Sooryavanshi's total gross receipts are currently put at a remarkable Rs. 116.17 crore, with Rs. 91.76 crore coming from the home market and another Rs. 24.41 crores coming from abroad countries. Surprisingly, the film, which is also the first big-ticket Bollywood movie to open theatres since the second shutdown, has managed to draw audiences from all over the world to see it.
Given the current trend, trade projections anticipate that Sooryavanshi's box office will continue to climb throughout its first week in theatres.
Sooryavanshi has a 6.2 out of 10 ratings.
At the box office, Sooryavanshi is doing exceptionally well. When it comes to ticket sales, the film starring Akshay Kumar has outperformed expectations. However, the film's popularity has now surpassed that of IMDb.
As we previously reported, the film has risen to number five on IMDb's list of Rohit Shetty's best five films. As you can see, the film has risen two spots to become Shetty's third highest-rated film on IMDb. It has eclipsed the success of Chennai Express and is now tied with All The Best: Fun Begins in terms of box office receipts.
Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and stars Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Abhimanyu Singh, Gulshan Grover, and Jaaved Jaaferi. It also includes cameo appearances by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.
In the meantime, the film has broken some of Rohit Shetty's own records. In terms of weekend box office, Chennai Express, which was released in 2013, grossed 93.66 crores in its first weekend. Golmaal Again was also a major hit, grossing 87.60 crores in its first weekend. Singham Returns made a 78-crore profit. Shetty's cop drama has now risen to fourth place on the list.
When it comes to pure consistency and the level at which his films succeed, Shetty is without a doubt one of Bollywood's most successful directors today.
