AKSHAY KUMAR'S DIWALI GIFT FOR THE FAMILIES OF THE MARTYRS

Akshay Kumar has a repute for doing films that one way or the other, connect with nationalism. In the past few years, Akshay’s movie graph has tilted towards the concept of patriotism and public spirit.

Akshay’s role of public welfare is not limited just to the movies. As we all know, as well as his roles, Akshay is equally known for his outspoken countenance when it comes to nation. Be it helping the needy, raising his concern for women safety or anything that concerns country’s progress, Akshay Kumar doesn’t shy away from his public responsibilities.

Recently, on the auspicious festival of Diwali, Akshay came forward to surprise the families of 103 martyrs by sending out gift cheques of worth Rs. 25,000 for each family.

When Vishwas Nangare Patil, Special Inspector-general of police, Kolhapur Range in Maharashtra came up with the idea of sending sweets to every martyr’s family, Akshay Kumar immediately stepped forward to do his bit.

In a heart-warming letter addressed to the families of the martyrs, Akshay wrote “We all are proud of your family member for his Sacrifice to the nation. I know, you are missing your loved ones on this Diwali Festival. But I request you to start the new year with courage. Sending a small gift of sweets and books for children. Please accept with love”.
