Amitabh Bachchan Reveals Why He Married Jaya Bachchan 46 Years Ago

Bollywood’s star couple Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan is celebrating their 46^th marriage anniversary on June 3. The actor shared the interesting tale of his marriage at his blog post on the eve of his marriage anniversary.

Amitabh met Jaya on the sets of his 1971 film ‘Guddi’ and got married soon after a month of the release of ‘Zanjeer’ in 1973. The actor shares the reason for marrying Jaya. He revealed that he wanted to celebrate the success of ‘Zanjeer’ with Jaya in London.

Seeking or rather informing parents that we were a group of friends going to England .. who all are going came the query from Babuji .. names disclosed .. Jaya is also going with you .. you both are alone .. yes .. if you have to go marry and go,” he wrote on his blog.

And so, Amitabh and Jaya decided to tie the knot the very next day and catch their flight to London at night.

Meanwhile, their son Abhishek Bachchan took down to his social media to wish them a very happy anniversary. He captioned the picture as: “Happy Anniversary to the parentals!

Love you both eternally. #46andcounting”
