Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk is undergoing training in Dharamshala for his Bollywood debut film ‘83’, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead. ‘83’ is based on the India’s maiden World Cup victory under the leadership of living legend Kapil Dev, and Ammy Virk is playing the role of former pacer Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who was part of the winning squad. Film’s shooting will start from May 15 in London and Scotland. But, before that the star cast of the film is undergoing training at Dharamshala stadium under former cricketers Kapil Dev, Balwinder Sandhu and Madan Lal among others.

Ammy Virk, known for his sterling performances in Punjabi films like ‘Harjeeta’ and ‘Qismat’ among others, is giving his best to fit into the role Balwinder Sandhu  who knocked out Gordon Greenidge in 1983 cricket World Cup final. The Punjabi star took to his official Instagram account to share the picture from his training session. In the pic, Ammy is seen taking tips about how to bowl from Balwinder Sandhu. He captioned the image as: "Spinning times are coming up!! Real training with my Reel avatar Balwinder Singh Sandhu sir from the Dharamshala boot camp. #Relive83."
Besides, other Punjabi star Harrdy Sandhu is also stepping into Bollywood with ‘83’. He is playing the role of former batsman Madan Lal. Lead actor Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, is portraying the role of Kapil Dev.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is slated to release in April 2020.
