ART OF PUNJAB TO OPEN SIKH ART GALLERY IN SLOUGH,UK

In partnership with Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara, Art of Punjab announced the opening of a permanent Sikh Art Gallery. Renowned Sikh Painter Kanwar Singh who has devoted ten years of his life creating exceptional paintings exclusively devoted to the Sikh religion and history put up a Facebook post stating his new paintings will be unveiled along with his other classic works.

Art of Punjab Gallery will showcase a complete collection of paintings portraying the Sikh history. Kanwar Singh, with a joint effort with Slough's Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara will launch the gallery on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s Gurpurab on Nov 4^th.

The objective of the gallery would be to depict Sikh Faith and its journey through landmark historical events throughout the era of Ten Sikh Gurus. Considering this as a community youth art initiative, over one hundred local young budding artists will attempt to portray history through arts.

Speaking about his ten year journey as an artist who solely focused on Sikh story, Kanwar Singh said, “My goal from the very start was to envision and spread awareness of this great Sikh historical narrative which offers each of us so much inspiration in our daily lives. I am so grateful to the volunteers at the Guru Maneyo Grath Gurdwara for elevating a decades worth of my creative outpouring to the kind of platform I always envisioned. These paintings are meant to be viewed as a timeline of Sikh history and viewed on a grand scale, where the long hours dedicated to recreating fine details in each piece can be fully appreciated.”

The event will be organised on November 4^th at Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara, Slough, UK and the event itinerary will as followed :

2:00pm - Exhibition Opening

2:30-5pm - Children’s Art Activities & Workshops

3:00pm - Talk by the Artist, Kanwar Singh (artofpunjab)
