Aryan Khan may have been targeted, claims NCB vigilance probe
Aryan Khan news: A senior NCB official of the vigilance department has revealed irregularities in the Aryan Khan drug arrest investigation on the Cordelia cruise ship. The case was headed by the former zonal head of the agency Sameer Wankhede in October of last year and resulted in the arrest of actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan, along with 19 other people.
According to sources, the vigilance committee filed a 3,000-page charge sheet against the seven to eight policemen in August for irregularities in not only the Aryan case but also two to three other cases. The officials include those employed by NCB, some who were deputed there, and some who are no longer employed by the bureau.

Sameer Wankhede, an IRS official deputed to the group, worked as the Mumbai NCB's head throughout the Aryan case. He was later returned to his home cadre.
The investigation suggested departmental action against ‘at least seven NCB personnel’, according to a senior bureau official who declined to be identified.

Following claims that attempts were made to extort money from Aryan Khan, a special investigation team (SIT) led by NCB's then-DDG Sanjay Kumar Singh re-examined the entire case including the first arrests made by Wankhede's unit. The Mumbai NCB team was allegedly trying to "implicate" Aryan in this case, according to the SIT, which uncovered numerous "severe abnormalities" in their actions.
Following the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) operations in Mumbai on October 2, 2016, Aryan was arrested. After being jailed for 25 days, the Bombay High Court released him on bail.

On May 27, the NCB issued a 6,000-page charge sheet against 14 individuals in the cruise drug raid case; this charge sheet eliminates the names of five other people, including Aryan Khan, who were previously held in connection with the case.
