Avengers: Endgame breaks box office records in India, collects Rs 53 crore on Day 1

"Avengers: Endgame", the final chapter from the Avengers franchise, has broken box office records in India as diehard fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) across the country thronged theatres to catch the action.

"Avengers: Endgame", " released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu across 2845 screens in India on Friday, has registering an opening day collection of Rs 53.10 crore, becoming the biggest Hollywood opener in the country till date.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter handle to share the details. He wrote: “"'Avengers" Endgame' is sensational...Creates history... Records highest Day 1 of 2019 so far... emerges biggest Hollywood opener to date... Crosses Day 1 business of 'Thugs Of Hindostan', the biggest opener from Hindi film industry (Rs 52.25 crore in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu)."

“Avengers: Endgame” is the 22nd film from MCU, the latest after “Captain Marvel”, which released last month. The film shows supervillain Thanos engaging in an epic battle with superheroes like Iron Man, Thor and Captain America.
