Birthday Special: A Look Back At Sardool Sikander’s Journey In Pollywood

Legendary Punjabi singer-actor Sardool Sikander celebrated his 58th birthday on January 15. He began his Pollywood journey with his first album ‘Roadways Di Laari’ in mid 1980s.

Born in Fatehgarh Sahib, Sardool Sikander has more than 27 albums to his credit. His album 'O Ho!', released in 2001, made the youngsters go crazy. Songs like ‘Aakh Nal Aakh’, ‘Dil De De’, ‘Sanu Ishq Barandi’ are still fresh in everyone’s mind. His album 'Husna De Malko' released in 1991, it was amongst his best selling albums ever.

Besides his pop and folk singing, Sardool Sikander has sung many religious songs as well. Some of them are ‘Panth Sajaya Hai’, ‘Khalsa Dee Chardi Kala’ and ‘Panth Khalsa’ among others.

Following his success, Sardool Sikander is a well-known name in the current mix of Punjabi singers. Singer-actor-lyricist Babbu Maan once said in his live show that no singers in the present lot can match Sardool Sikander’s talent.

Recently singer Jazzy B and rapper Bohemia visited him to spend some time with the legend. Some pictures of their meeting are present on social media sites in which the legend can be seen sitting on a chair and Jazzy B, Bohemia are standing beside him.

Besides singing, Sardool Sikander has acted in Punjabi movies as well. ‘Jagga Daku’ and ‘Police in Pollywood’ to name a few.
