She made her debut in Hindi cinema in 1994 with the film ‘Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna’. After which, she worked as a lead actress in 1995 drama ‘Veergati’.

Divya garnered immense praises for her role in the romantic drama ‘Veer Zaara’ and was awarded with the best supporting actress at several events.

In 1999, she made her Punjabi debut in the romantic drama ‘Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh’ opposite Gurdas Maan. Later, she played supporting roles in the films Samar, Rajaji and Tabaahi-The Destroyer.
