The much awaited trailer of The Matrix Resurrections has been released. Keanu Reeves is back in his role as Neo in the fourth installment of the Matrix franchise whereas Carrie-Anne Moss will be seen as Trinity. Other than them, Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Jada Pinkett Smith will also be seen in pivotal roles.
The trailer begins with a scene inside the office of a therapist, played by Neil Patrick Harris, who is speaking with his client played by Reeves.
In the trailer, it seems like that Neo is now Thomas, and that he has been struck within the Matrix, a simulated reality. But he has no idea what to do about it, similar to what happened to him in 1999"s "Matrix."
Neo is shown taking blue pills, which help him stay in his current reality, until Yahya Abdul-Mateen II arrives and hands Neo the red pill and says, "Time to fly." Needless to say, Neo's reality is once again flipped upside down as he returns to the Matrix.
In the Matrix Resurrection trailer, actress Priyanka Chopra can be seen reading the book Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass, a literary reference to the film's theme of alternate realities. Priyanka took to Instagram to express her delight at the release of the film's trailer.
The first Matrix film, directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowsky, was released in 1999. In 2003, it was followed by The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Helmed solely by Lana, The Matrix Resurrections, is set to hit theatres on December 22.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra will be also seen along with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in their upcoming movie 'Jee Le Zara' based on a girls road-trip movie directed by Farhan Akhtar.
