Dilip Kumar Honoured By World Book Of Records, London For His Cinematic Contribution

Veteran Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar was honoured for his matchless contribution towards Indian cinema by the World Book of Records, in London. His wife and veteran actress Saira Banu collected the award for him.

The actor is 97 years old and still thriving. Dilip Kumar started his acting career in the year 1944, and has worked for over six decades in the film industry. Honouring him, the World Book of Records has awarded the actor for his 'matchless contribution' to Indian cinema.

Even though Dilip couldn’t go, his wife Saira Banu collected the certificate of Honour for him in London.

Actor Shatrughan Sinha took down to his Twitter handle to congratulate Dilip for his contribution.

He wrote, "Many Congratulations! To the great thespian & greatest actor par excellence #DilipKumar on being honoured by the ‘World Book of Records’ London. He has been felicitated for his matchless contributions to Indian Cinema & for promoting social causes. This award seems to be the most genuine & deserving as far as our living legend Dilip Kumar is concerned. This should have come much earlier but nonetheless it is highly appreciated and applauded. Best wishes to Dilip Kumar Saheb/Yusuf Khan, his entire family, especially the great lady of substance #SairaBano. #WorldBookOfRecordsLondon"

Dilip Kumar recently celebrated his 97th birthday on December 11. He had made his big-screen debut in 1944 with ‘Jwar Bhata’.
