Bollywood’s dreamgirl, Hema Malini is all set to release her debut Punjabi production film ‘Mitti: Virasat Babbaran Di’ on August 23. While the Punjabi film industry has always been working around comic movies, the industry is slowly moving towards uncommon, historic, and content driven films.

Similarly, Hema Malini’s debut Punjabi production film ‘Mitti: Virasat Babbaran Di’ is based on historic events of contemporary era. The film will feature the never shown history of the Babbars of Punjab who sacrificed a lot for the freedom.

The five Sikh men will fight for the nation with the British army. Directed by Hriday Shetty, the film is creating huge buzz for its content. The Babbars did a lot for the freedom, and yet they went unrecognized.

The film is a story of five youngsters, set in the backdrop of terrorism and drug menace of the Punjab state. ‘Mitti: Virasat Babbaran Di’ is based on the true events of 1920, when five Sikh NRIs came back to India, fought the Britishers, and died during the fight.

‘Mitti: Virasat Babbaran Di’ stars Rabbi Kandola, Kuljinder Sidhu, Japji Khaira, Jagjeet Sandhu, Nishawn Bhullar, Dheeraj Kumar, Pali Sandhu and Aakanksha Sareen in important roles.
