FLYING SIKH OF INDIA MILKHA SINGH UNVEILS HIS WAX FIGURE FOR MADAME TUSSAUDS DELHI

The flying Sikh on India, Milkha Singh on Tuesday unveiled his wax figure for the upcoming Madame Tussauds Delhi. The figure will be displayed at the sports zone of the attraction once it is opened in Delhi.

The wax figure of Milkha Singh will allow visitors to cherish the winning moment of 1958, where he won his first gold medal. The figure was crafted from over 300 measurements and photographs, by several high-skilled artists from Madame Tussauds. The iconic wax figure is sculpted in sprint pose.

Milkha Singh one such athlete of India who needs no introduction, as everybody knows how he has made India proud with his achievements in life. His life story was also filmed in his Bollywood biopic called ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. The film came in 2013 and was an Indian biographical sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra from a script written by Prasoon Joshi. The story is based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete who was a national champion runner and an Olympian. The character of Milkha Singh was played by Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar.

During the unveiling of his, Milkha Singh said, “I am very happy to receive such honour of getting my wax figure at the upcoming Madame Tussauds Delhi, to see my wax figure next to such icons at Madame Tussauds Delhi is an accolade in itself. I am grateful to Madame Tussauds for their creativity and respect their team’s dedication and efforts they have devoted in crafting the figure. The whole process has been a joyful journey and I am amazed to see the result today.”
