Freedom To Choose: AR Rahman Defends Daughter For Wearing Niqab
Recently, the Oscar-winning singer AR Rahman was making news with his daughter for forcing her to wear a niqab. A niqab is traditionally a veil worn by some muslim women, based on their beliefs. The slumdog millionaire team was celebrating 10 years of the album as Khatija delivered an emotional speech for her father.
However, it didn't go as expected and AR Rahman was leashed out and called out a hypocrite for making his daughter wear the veil. Khatija came forward and stood up for those harsh comments on her dad through this Facebook post with the hashtag Freedom of choice.
AR Rahman has recently shared a picture of his wife and daughters with Nita Ambani, which serves as a comeback to all the comments made on her. In the picture, his wife Saira is covering her head with a dupatta, while Khatija is wearing a niqab and Raheema has left her hair lose, without covering her head or face. Rahman has used the hashtag #freedomtochoose, in a response to all those slammed comments.

AR Rahman has won hearts of people with his music. The singer has been awarded with Filmfare and Padma Shri to Grammy and Oscars in the Hollywood industry.
