From Farhan Akhtar to Parineeti Chopra; B-Town Celebrities expresses shock over corpses floating on the Ganga!

Ever since dead bodies have been found floating in the Ganga; many Bollywood celebrities have showcased their grief and concerns with regard to it.

The ongoing second wave of Covid-19 has hit adversely to the entire country. Various celebrities from Bollywood took their social media to express shock and condemn the horrific incidents. Famous actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhatar shared a tweet which read as, “The news of scores of bodies being discovered floating in rivers and washed up on its banks is absolutely heartbreaking. The virus will be defeated someday, but there has to be accountability for these failures in the system. Until then, the pandemic chapter is not closed!” Pooja Bhatt also shared her views in this regard and wrote, “You can fudge the data.. how do you hide the bodies? This will haunt us for generations to come.”

On Monday, May 9th more than 45 dead bodies were found floating in a decomposed stage on the banks of the Ganga in Buxar district. However, the district administrator claimed that the bodies were from the upstream districts of Ghazipur, Varanasi or Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

Recently, Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh also reported around two dozen dead bodies floating on the banks of the Ganga; some of which were partially cremated and thrown in the river. Parineeti Chopra sharing on her Twitter wrote, “The pandemic seems to have brought out the worst in humanity, said Parineeti. "Those bodies floating in rivers were lives lived; they were somebody’s mother, daughter, father or son. How would you feel if you were on that riverbank and saw your mother floating by?? UNTHINKABLE. Monsters,"
