From Udta Punjab To Arjun Patiala: Which Is Your Favourite Diljit Dosanjh’s Hindi Film?

Dosanjh is one of the most versatile artists. He is a well known personality in Punjabi and Hindi industry with the films and music he has given to the audience. While he made his debut with the 2004 album ‘Ishq Da Uda Ada’, he gained popularity with his third album ‘Smile’.

2011 saw Dosanjh's entry into mainstream Punjabi movies with the film ‘The Lion Of Punjab’. Even though the film flopped at the box office, his track ‘Lak 28 Kudi Da’, from the movie was a major success. He was later on seen in films like ‘Jihne Mera Dil Luteya’, ‘Jatt & Juliet’, ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’, ‘Disco Singh’, ‘Punjab 1984’ among many others.

Meanwhile, he also made his move in the Hindi film industry with the 2016 film ‘Udta Punjab’. While his sixth Bollywood film ‘Good Newwz’ is on its way, let’s see which of his five Bollywood films is your favourite.

Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab is a 2016 Indian black comedy crime film co-written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The film revolves around the issue of drug abuse in the state of Punjab. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Shahid Kapoor along with Diljit, the film did great at the box office.

Phillauri

Phillauri is a 2017 Indian Hindi fantasy comedy film directed by Anshai Lal. The film stars Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma & Mehreen Pirzada in the lead roles. The film received mixed reviews from critics and the audience. It did fairly well at the box office, but Diljit’s performance was praised.

Welcome To New York

Welcome To New York is a 2018 Indian 3D comedy film, directed by Chakri Toleti. Starring Ritesh Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Diljit Dosanjh, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani, the film was severely criticized by the critics.

Soorma

Soorma is a 2018 Indian biographical sports drama film based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh. Directed by Shaad Ali, Diljit Dosanjh essayed the role of Sandeep Singh very beautifully. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Soorma emerged as a commercial success.

Arjun Patiala

Arjun Patiala is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Rohit Jugraj. Starring Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma along with Diljit, the film was shot in Chandigarh and other areas of Punjab.

Now, Diljit’s fans are eagerly waiting for his next release ‘Good Newwz’ starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kiara Advani along with him. The film is going to be a comedy film moving around the issue of IVF. ‘Good Newwz’ is slated to release on December 27.
