Search engine Google, today, dedicated a special doodle remembering the late legendary Bollywood actor Amrish Puri, who is known for his many iconic roles in the Hindi cinema, on his 87th birthday.

Born in Punjab on June 22, 1932, Amrish Puri was one of Indian cinema's most respected actors, and is still remembered for his iconic characters like Mogambo in 'Mr India' and Simran's father in 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'.

Amrish Puri acted in more than 400 films between 1967 and 2005. Besides in Bollywood, Amrish Puri worked in regional cinema as well. He acted in Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil movies.

He is also known as one of the best villains the Bollywood has ever seen.

Puri has won three Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actor. The iconic actor passed away at the age of 72 on December 27, 2004.
