GURUPURAB SPECIAL:LIVE VISHAL NAGAR KIRTAN AND RAAG DARBAR

The birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ramdas ji, the 4^th Guru in the ten recognized living Gurus in Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s line will be celebrated on 7^th October and on this auspicious occasion, Vishal Nagar Kirtan will be organized on Friday 6^th October from Akal Takht Sri Harimandir Sahib at 1.00 PM onwards.

Raag Darbar will also be organized in the evening at 8.00 PM onwards from Gurudwara Sri Manji Sahib Deewan Hall , Sri Amritsar Sahib. The telecast of both events will be aired on PTC News India & Live on PTC Simran Facebook and YouTube Channel.

Guru Ramdas Ji, the founder of holy city Amritsar was born in a Sodhi Khatri family on the 2nd day of the Karthik month in Bikrami Samvat. Being the composer of 638 hymns, Guru Ram Das Ji is credited for his 30 ancient ragas of Indian classical music.

One who calls himself to be a disciple of the Guru should rise before dawn and meditate on the Lord's Name. During the early hours, he should rise and bathe, cleansing his soul in a tank of nectar , while he repeats the Name the Guru has spoken to him.
