Punjabi gabru, Babbal Rai, is known for his cute smile and charming looks in the industry. Born with the name, Simranjeet Singh Rai, on March 3, he belongs to a Sikh family from Ludhiana district. Babbal Rai always had a passion for cricket as he was trained by Yograj Singh and aspired to be a cricketer in life.

However, destiny had different plans for him as he became a YouTube sensation with a video he uploaded, called ‘Australian Challa’.

Babbal Rai made his debut with the album ‘SAU PUTT’ which too brought him into the limelight in the Punjabi music industry. In 2012 he released his single track ‘Sohni’. It is reported that he feels that his claim to fame is to sing what he feels from his heart.The tracks ‘Sohni’ made him an instant success followed by ‘Taur’ and ‘Tere Naam’. He also sang his first playback song for Jimmy Shergill's Punjabi film ‘Rangeelay’.
