Harrdy Sandhu was born as Hardavinder Singh Sandhu on September 6. It was during his cricket coaching days that his name was shortened to Hardy Sandhu.

He played cricket for over a decade as a fast bowler, but suffered an injury, forcing him to give up the game in 2007.

He shifted his focus from sports to singing.
