Happy Birthday Smeep Kang : He Is The Real Comedy King Behind The Camera

Smeep Kang is one of the most versatile artist in the Punjabi industry. He has worked as an actor, producer, writer and director in tons of Punjabi movies. However, he rose to fame with his directorial comedy 'Carry On Jatta' in 2012 and ever since Smeep has been giving hits to the Punjabi cinema.

After directing the blockbuster hit 'Carry On Jatta', Smeep gave another successful movie 'Lucky Di Unlucky Story'. Smeep is the comedy king behind the camera and has given biggest comedy stars like Gippy Grewal, Amrinder Gill to the Punjabi industry. Today on his birthday, we recall his journey in the Punjabi cinema as he started in 1999 and still rules the Punjabi cinema as the director.

Carry On Jaata (2012)

Carry On Jaata starred Gippy Grewal and Mahie Gill in the lead. The movie had the second highest opening for a Punjabi movie with a total of Rs 20.95 Crore box office collection. The movie has been remade in Odia, Telugu, Bangladeshi and Bengali.

Lucky Di Unlucky Story (2013)

With Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla and Gurpreet Guggi in the lead, Smeep came up with the team of his previous hit 'Carry On Jatta' again in 'Lucky Di Unlucky Story'. The movie crossed a whooping Rs. 9 Crore at Punjabi box office collection.

Mr & Mrs 420 (2014)

Mr & Mrs 420 was another hit by Smeep Kang, but this time as a writer. Smeep wrote the script of the movie and the movie was a blockbuster hit in the Punjabi cinema. The movie collected a gross amount of Rs. 10 Crore in India and all the credit goes to the perfectly written storyline of the movie.

Second Hand Husband (2015)

Smeep has not only given hits to Punjabi cinema, but he has also worked in Hindi cinema as director and writer. It is a romantic comedy staring Gippy Grewal and Tina Ahuja in the lead. The movie marked as Gippy and Tina's debut Hindi movie. While the movie did not do  very well on the box office, it was critically appraised by the audience.

Carry On Jatta 2 (2018)

After giving the superhit 'Carry On Jatta', Smeep collaborated with Gippy Grewal again in 'Carry On Jaata 2'. Smeep and Gippy is an amazing duo in the Punjabi industry, having worked for most of the movies together. Carry On Jatta 2 collected a gross amount of Rs 40 Crore in India.

Smeep has given a bunch of laughter and entertainment filled movies to the Punjabi cinema. He is the true rockstar behind the camera, polishing actors for the audience and giving them the best movies in Pollywood.
