Playlists with the songs 'Rang Barse', 'Holi Khele Raghuveera' and 'Do Me A Favour, Let's Play Holi' are ready. ‘Thandais’ and ‘Bhaangs’ are all set to add to the excitement and Malpuye and Gujhiya are ready to take care of the hunger. With all these preparations, each one of us is ready to celebrate Holi.

Holi has been celebrated for years. With the passage of time, the ways of celebrations have also changed. With the time having been evolved, it has led to Holi rituals' evolution too. Today's Holi celebrations are incomplete without a few essentials. To know these essentials of Holi festival, let us read more.

  • Herbal Colours

Holi is all about applying colours and playing with each other. But these colours are known as the root cause of several skin allergies. Kudos to the people that they have now understood the flip side/ harmful effects of Holi colours. People are now opting for herbal Holi colours which aren't of cheaper quality. So, without herbal colours, palette to paint the world is definitely not colourful.

  • Dahi Handi

Dahi Handi is a popular ritual which was initially followed by people of Maharashtra. Today this is observed in every part of the country. With the group of boys climbing on each other to break 'Dahi Handi' tied at a great height, this ritual tops the list of exciting traditions of India. The biggest attraction of this ritual lies with the boys screaming 'Mach Gaya Shor Sari Nagri Rey' or 'Go Go Go Govinda'.

  • Holika Dahan

Not everyone does Holika Dahan but for the people who do it, it is the most pious and emotional part of celebrations of Holi. It is done to remember Hindu evil king Hirnakashyap's son 'Prahalad' who was made to sit in a pyre along with his emotionless aunt 'Holika' to get burnt. On every Holi, bonfires are observed to burn Holika.

  • Dhol and Music

It is the most essential of all. Great holi tracks and dhol beats let you enjoy this festival with great enthusiasm. Appropriate music always adds to the mood. So, Holi tracks and nice dancing beats definitely add to the charm of the festival.

So, these are few of the essentials of Holi. There is no harm in trying these rituals if never tried. It will be a great fun for sure.
