Humanity Restored! Sikhs In US Feed Protestors Marching In Outrage Over #BlackLivesMatter
With the world loosing its faith during this hard time when everything seems to be coming to an end, there is still hope! While the world is fighting through the coronavirus pandemic, there is so much other stuff going around and we can’t ignore it.
Some of the Sikh Gurudwaras in the US are feeding the protesters marching in outrage over the killings of George Floyd and other black Americans by the police.
Guru Nanak started the Sikh concept of langar over 500 years ago as a child. Translating as ”communal kitchen”, langar sees every Gurdwara (Sikh temple) in the world have an open kitchen that distributes free meals all day, every day, to anyone, regardless of faith, gender, age. pic.twitter.com/Wov3rjCsTJ

Last week, a dozen of volunteers from the Queens center served 500 portions of matar paneer, rice and rajma, a creamy, comforting dish of red beans stewed with tomatoes, and 1,000 bottles of water and cans of soda to demonstrators in Sunnyside. They also offered dessert: kheer, a sweetened rice pudding.
Impressed by this Punjabi singer actor Diljit Dosanjh posted the same on his social media handle, where other Pollywood celebs commented on the post.
We salute the work done by these people and hope that each of you is safe and sound in their homes.
