Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas is one of the most amazing artists, who has crooned some beautiful dance numbers. With an aspiration to sing, from her childhood, she came from California to India to make her dream come true. Born in Jalandhar, Punjab, on September 4, the ‘Illegal Weapon’ singer is celebrating her birthday today. Upon releasing her first single ‘Muskan’ in 2008, Jasmine garnered immense love from her fans as the song was a hit. Going down the memory lane, Jasmine took to her Instagram handle to share her journey when she moved to India four years ago to make her dream come true. Jasmine wrote: “This was September 2016. I had just moved to India and was living in Bombay. My dreams were innocent and my heart was light. Looking back at the last 4 years brings happy tears to my eyes. I’ve been so successful in music and traveled the world with it. I’ve sold out tours and received standing ovations. Album 3 (what’s in a name) was appreciated more than I could ever imagine. During the last few years, I’ve dropped bangers and also released songs important for the culture. My fans get my ideas tattooed on their bodies. Looking back at the red hair girl, i sigh. I’ve gained so much but I’ve also lost so much. It’s the price I paid for what I have. What I have is more than I prayed for. In 2017, I moved to Punjab with big dreams in my heart. I was born in Punjab and you can hear my roots in every word I sing. I hoped to understand my people from the core of the land. I dreamed of uniting with my people to create beautiful art that echoed for decades to come. I wished to uplift my people through my songs and my Snapchat. I wanted to change and fix so much so I dove deep into the middle of it. I swore to encourage, empower, and uplift my people even if it killed me. I barely made it. So truly - happy birthday to me. I am thankful for every day that I get to wake up. I am grateful for the love and respect I receive. I am rich in love and I couldn’t ask for anything else. Love is all I ever wanted anyway. A new chapter begins and it’s the best one yet. The best of me is yet to be. #teamsandlas fasten your seatbelts because were about to take off ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️ ok I got carried away ? Nothing special is happening. It’s just another birthday. Or is it ?”

Her Bollywood debut track ‘Yaar Na Miley’ went viral and received wide critical acclaim for her singing style as well as earned several awards, including ‘Most popular song of the year 2016’ at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards. Jasmine started writing songs at the age of 16 and her first song ‘Muskan’ was released in 2008, which was an immediate hit.
