KANGANA RANAUT REFUSES TO SUPPORT DEEPIKA, SAYS 'NO' TO SIGN THE PETITION

Controversy surrounding Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Padmavati’ refuses to die down. After so many protests and death threats to film’s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and leading actress Deepika Padukone, film’s release seems to be in a lurch.

Even though the entire Hindi Film industry has come out in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone, there’s still one prominent personality of Bollywood who has not made her stance clear on the issue.

As per reports, veteran actress Shabana Azmi had initiated a petition in support of Deepika Padukone and for her security and many leading Bollywood actresses including Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and many others willingly and  unconditionally signed the petition which was to be sent out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for Deepika’s safety and protection.

However, Shabana Azmi was really stunned when Kangana Ranaut gave an outright ‘No’ to signing the ‘Deepika Bachao’ petition. This is a well known fact that Deepika and Kangana have not been very good friends which goes back to the time when in 2014 Deepika had dedicated her award for 'Happy New Year' to Kangana’s performance in 'Queen'. Kangana had reacted by saying she’d have preferred if Deepika had personally appreciated her performance rather than speak about it in public.

This is also a fact that Deepika Padukone had stayed mum when Kangana’s battle with Hrithik Roshan was in full mode. Kangana probably feels no need to extend her support to anyone since no one supported her.
