Kapil Dev's Daughter Amiya To Assist Director In Ranveer Singh’s 83

Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’ is grabbing the spotlight every other day. From ensemble cast to story line, ‘83’ is one highly awaited film. Recently, ‘83’ is making the headlines following the reports that Kapil Dev’s daughter Amiya Dev will be working as an assistant director in the film.

‘83’ is based on the life former cricketer Kapil Dev who led the Indian cricket team to lift its maiden World Cup trophy in 1983 by beating West Indies in the finals. Ranveer Singh will be portraying Kapil Dev on big screen.

Sandeep Patil’s son Chirag, who is playing Ranveer's father in the film, told Mumbai Mirror about Amiya. He said: “We met for the first time while working on the film. She’s from Delhi, I’m from Mumbai and she’s way younger than me. She’s part of our daily training sessions since she is on the direction team. “

“So, she keeps us updated on any meetings we are supposed to attend. Whenever I’m in Kabir’s office she’s there and is very involved in the process, be it planning the costumes or the schedule", revealed Chirag.

Besides Ranveer Singh, Popular Punjabi stars Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu are also playing important roles in the film.

While, Ammy is portraying Balvinder Singh Sandhu, Harrdy Sandhu is playing the role of former batsman Madan Lal, who was responsible for taking the crucial wicket of Sir Vivian Richards during the final match of 1983 World Cup against West Indies.

The duo have already began their training under Balvinder Singh Sandhu. According to the reports, the duo are undergoing training at a popular Mumbai cricket ground.

Directed by Kabir Khan, The film is slated to release in 2020.
