Popularly known as the father of trees, Baba Sewa Singh took an initiative in 2004 to plant more trees. Baba Sewa Singh launched a campaign to plant trees and take a stand for the environment in 2004 to commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of Guru Angad Dev Ji. He planned to plant 25600 trees on all the seven roads leading to Khadoor Sahib and makes the roads green. He was awarded with the Padma Shri award for the same.
