Mandy Takhar: I As A ‘Lado Rani’ Went To the Club, Did Party And Enjoyed Myself. She is amongst the most talented actresses of Punjabi Film Industry. The actress turned into a singer with her debut track “Lado Rani” a couple of months back. Her latest released movie “Khido Khundi” got much appreciation and love from the public. Her character in “Khido Khundi” broke her stereotype on-screen image and she proved that she is fit for all kinds of roles.
Her song ‘Lado Rani’ is all about what a party song has to be. When asked about her singing the song, she said, “The song is a breakthrough from Punjabi mindset. ‘Lado Rani’ is basically a nickname given to a sweet, innocent girl, who only goes by the society set rules, on the other hand, I as Lado Rani went into the club, did party and enjoyed myself. A girl can go out, party, have fun with her friends, and still be a Lado Rani.”
‘Lado Rani’ came out in collaboration with Dr. Zeus. Speaking about what made Mandy fall for singing in the first place, she said, “Honestly, I think everyone enjoys singing, and everyone sings in the shower. However, not everyone thinks to take it on a professional level. Since I am a part of the entertainment industry already, I thought of attempting to change a hobby into a profession. Moreover, Dr. Zeus is a family friend and when he asked me if I would love to give it a shot, I was like why not!”
Talking about her difficulties while shooting the song she added, “There’s a huge difference when you sing for fun and when you sing in front of the mic with the headphones on. A background music keeps playing in your ears and whether you want it or not, you have to be in the moment, if you want to get the recording right.” She added, “I never settle. Even if you give me an award for a role, I would say I could have done better. That’s something I did while recording ‘Lado Rani’ too. I was grateful that I knew Dr Zeus personally, so it was fine for me to say that I would like to try once more.” The actress also added that this habit of hers helps her in staying grounded.
