#MeToo Movement: No Woman Should Face Misbehaviour, Says Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is celebrating his 76th birthday, has finally reacted to the ongoing #MeToo movement, saying the women shouldn't be subjected to misbehavior at the workplace.

In an interview, conducted on the eve of his 76th birthday, he was asked about sexual harassment at the work place. Big B replied, "No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour, or disorderly conduct, especially at her work place. Such acts should immediately be brought to the notice of concerned authorities, and corrective measures be taken, either through filing complaints or a recourse to law.

"Discipline and civic, social and moral curriculums, should be adopted at a very early educational level. Women, children and the weaker sections of our society are the most vulnerable. They need to be under special protective care. It has been most heartening to see women representations in most work vocations, on the increase in our country. It would be an un-repairable blemish if we are not able to provide them the welcome they deserve and the dignity of the security of their presence," he said.

Earlier, Big B faced flak from various social media users after he dodged the question on Tanushree Dutta's allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar. He was asked to comment on the issue during the trailer launch of his upcoming film “Thugs Of Hindostan”.

Meanwhile, many celebrities including cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi among others took to their respective Twitter handles to wish Big B on his birthday.

On the work front, Big B will be seen next opposite Aamir Khan in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s directorial “Thugs Of Hindostan”. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and “Dangal” fame girl Fatima Sana Shaikh. It is slated to release on November 8.
