Mithun Chakraborty’s Father Passes Away In Mumbai Of Kidney Failure

Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty’s father breathed his last in Mumbai on April 21, and passed away due to kindey failure. Basantakumar Chakraborty was battling age-related health issues as he was 95 and thence, he took his last breath.

Mithun’s younger son, Namashi, told the leading news agency PTI, “Yes, my grandfather passed away last evening due to kidney failure.”

Reported by Namashi, Mithun is stuck in Bengaluru due to the coronavirus lockdown and is trying to get to Mumbai to perform the last rites of his father.

Popular Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta confirmed the news on Twitter and shared a condolence message for Mithun and his family. She wrote, "My deep condolences on the sudden demise of your father, Mithun Da. Stay strong & may his soul rest in peace forever."
