The Multiplex Association of India (MAI), on September 2, announced that National Cinema Day would be observed on September 16, offering tickets for just Rs 75. However, it seems the audience will have to wait for a little bit more as the MAI is likely to postpone the National Cinema Day to safeguard Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's 'Brahmastra' collections at the box office.
The moviegoers were excited as the average ticket price is more than Rs. 150 or Rs. 200. With the observance of National Cinema Day, the tickers would be made available at Rs 75, at such a cheap rate.
Thus, several people had made plans to throng theatres on September 16. However, it seems like the audience would have to wait a little more to take advantage of the offer.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the Multiplex Association of India has decided to postpone National Cinema Day by a week which means it would now be held on Friday, September 23.
Bollywood Hungama also mentioned the reason behind this and stated that the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Brahmastra' is doing brilliant at present and it was strong even on Monday.
This proves that it’ll do strong business on the second weekend as well and therefore, Disney has requested the multiplex association to push the celebrations by a week, it added.
As per MAI, the multiplexes like PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Carnival, Miraj, City Pride, Asian, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Wave, M2K, and Delite among the others will participate in the celebrations.
