It is indeed a sad year as Bollywood’s great artists are on their way to the heavenly abode. Bollywood was just coming out of the shock of Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor’s death as another wave of grief has come along with the sad demise of music composer Wajid Khan.

Wajid Khan, known for his work in films like ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Mujhse Shadi Karogi’, ‘Partner’ among many others passed away at a hospital in Mumbai on June 1.

The news of Wajid's death was confirmed by music composer Salim Merchant, who said that the 42-year-old was hospitalised at Surna Hospital in Mumbai a few days ago.

“He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection... He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” Salim told PTI.

Soon after the news broke, several celebrities took to social media platforms to express their grief and to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
