Old Delhi Sets To Be Created In Mumbai With 15 Crores For Karan Johar's Upcoming Film 'Kalank'

Karan Johar has been working on a film that was his dad Yash Chopra's dream. Yes, the movie titles "Kalank". The film is considered as the most anticipated movie of the coming year. Karan Johar is bringing Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit together for this movie. After a long gap of 21 tears and the most rumored couple of 90's Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit will be working together for Kalank. They two in an alleged affair and got separated after Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to jail for possessing arms which were a part of the consignment used in the 1993 Mumbai blast. Karan Johar has made something possible that nobody has even thought of doing.

According to the media reports, Karan Johar has been making a new set in the Film City that is specially designed for the movie "Kalank". this will recreate the magic of Old Delhi in Film City. The whole film City is under heavy security to ensure that pictures if the interiors do not get leaked and viral.

To add more spice to the information, we have something very interesting to tell our readers. Karan Johar has spent Rs 15 crore to build an Old Delhi set in the city. Karan got Amrita Mahal Nakai to work on the set’s design and structure. The source further mentioned that they have created an old Delhi mohalla with a Mahal, mainly because 'Kalank' is set against the backdrop of the partition. Since the film is based in the 1940s, the team has designed the sets keeping that particular period in mind.

'Kalank' is very important for Karan Johar as this was his dad, Yash Johar's project. Reportedly, this would be the biggest film of Karan Johar's career because he is making sure that 'Kalank' is one of the biggest films he’s ever produced.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. 'Kalank' is scheduled to release next year on 19 April 2019.
