
Pandit Shivkumar Sharma Death news: In a piece of shocking news from the music industry, the Indian music composer and santoor maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma died in Mumbai at the age of 84.
Pandit Shivkumar Sharma was suffering from kidney-related issues for the last six months. Reportedly, the Santoor Maestro was on dialysis and he passed away due to cardiac arrest.

He had composed the background music for one of the scenes in Shantaram’s film Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje in 1956 and recorded his first solo album in 1960.

Likewise, he had composed music with flute legend Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasia for several films like Silsila, Lamhe, Faasle, Darr, and Chandni among others.
It is pertinent to mention that Pandit Shivkumar Sharma was the recipient of national and international awards. These included an honorary citizenship of the city of Baltimore, USA (1985), the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1986), the Padma Shri (1991), and the Padma Vibhushan (2001).

The news of Pandit Shivkumar Sharma's death is shocking for the music industry and several celebrities are extending condolences on his demise.
