Prakash Jha's short film 'Highway Nights' nominated for Academy Awards

Parkash Jha news: Filmmaker Prakash Jha was surprised when his short film 'Highway Nights' features him and got shortlisted for the Academy awards. The veteran director was not aware that short films also get recognition. Prakash Jha created masterpieces in Bollywood films which include 'Rajneeti,' 'Aarakshan', 'Satyagraha', 'Gangaajal' and many more.

Recently in an interview, the 'Rajneeti' director openly said that if short films which are deserving get acceptance from the audience then it would be great. As the director was not expecting the short film to get a positive response and do wonders. Talking about the film was directed by Shubham Singh and the concept was just amazing. Prakash Jha mentioned that the only reason he agreed to do the film was the storyline and the script which compelled Prakash to do the film.

Further, director Shubham stated the reason for picking Prakash Jha was that he was impressed with his act in the 2019 movie 'Saandh Ki Aankh' so he liked his raw character there and just after that he decided to cast Prakash Jha. The film is inspired by a true story of the Bachhada tribe in Madhya Pradesh and showcases how women are mistreated and thrown into the brutal circle of flesh trade in remote regions of India.

Taking to Instagram he shared a video where he expressed his experience with the co-stars and he was glad by the fact that the film got nominated for the Academy Awards. Prakash Jha stated that it was a wonderful experience and he stated that it was an important issue which must be told.

So, the film revolves around this concept and how women suffer due to this thought processing is all the film includes.
