Well-known director Kalyani Singh is all set to direct the new version of 1969 cult film ‘Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai’. The original version of the movie is directed by Ram Maheshwari.

'Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai', featured stars like Prithviraj Kapoor, IS Johar, Som Dutt, Veena, Nishi and Vimmi among others, won the National Award in the Punjabi language category in 1970.

‘Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai' was a hugely successful devotional movie in the Punjabi language. When the film was released in 1969, people used to remove their shoes and cover their heads before entering into the theaters to watch the film.

Now after 50 years of its release, producer duo Maann Singh Deep and Kalyani Singh have decided to produce the new version of 1969 cult classic with the same name ‘Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai’.

According to the reports, the new version of the film will feature actors like Yuvraj Hans, Drishtii Grewal, Yamini Malhotra, Aman Dhaliwal, Vindu Dara Singh, Sardar Sohi and Mukesh Rishi among others.

To be written and directed by Kalyani Singh, the new version of the film will have the music by Onkar Minhas.
