Priyanka Chopra Jonas expresses anguish on US Supreme Court's decision on abortion rights

Priyanka Chopra on US's ruling abortion rights: The constitutional right to abortion was overturned by a decision by the US Supreme Court. On social media, a number of Hollywood A-listers have voiced their dissatisfaction with the decision.

Following the decision, some states will outlaw abortion. While Priyanka Chopra didn't respond to the news directly, she republished Michelle Obama's Instagram post on her Instagram story.

In a lengthy post, former firts lady Michelle Obama stated, "So yes, I am heartbroken – for the teenage girl, full of zest and promise, who won't be able to finish school or live the life she wants because her state controls her reproductive decisions; for the mother of a nonviable pregnancy who is now forced to bring that pregnancy to term; for the parents watching their child's future evaporate before their very eyes; for the health care workers who can no longer help them without risking jail time"

In her Instagram stories, Priyanka conveyed her grief over the most recent US Supreme Court decision. In addition to sharing a heartbreaking statement made by Michelle Obama, Chopra also included another post that featured a satirical cartoon linking American gun rights with abortion rights. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in about 50 years, one of the key achievements for women's rights, it has received a lot of criticism for the current backward step.

Hailey Bieber posted a headline about the shocking decision and adding the remark that it left her "speechless."  She then continued, "What an extreme loss and disappointment. This is really scary."

Meanwhile on the work front, Priyanka Chopra has finished filming her forthcoming web series "Citadel”. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
