Producer Of Film ‘83’ Clears Rumor Of Film Releasing Straight On OTT Platform

Actor Ranveer Singh’s film ‘83’ is one of the most awaited films of the industry and it was scheduled to release on April 10, but got pushed forward due to the coronavirus outbreak. While it is not the only film affected due to it, but it surely was one of those films, which the audience was looking forward to.

The recent rumors suggested that the film may just release straight to the online platform due to the unsure lockdown because even if the lockdown is lifted on May 3, the movie halls may still remain close to ensure social distancing.

However, the film’s producers have refuted the same. Speaking to PTI, a leading news agency, Reliance Entertainment Group CEO Shibashish Sarkar said the makers are not looking in that direction for another six months at least.

He said, “There is no truth in this. As producers and even the director we all are on the same page that we want to wait for theatrical release for next few months. We will first complete the film then we will wait. If six or nine months down the line the situation becomes much worse we will take a call at that time. There is no hurry.”

“We will wait for next four to six months before taking any further call,” he added.

The film chronicles India’s first World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev in 1983. It also stars Deepika Padukone, Hardy Sandhu, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jivaa, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi among others.
