PTC BOX OFFICE: RAJESH BHATIA’S DIRECTORIAL ‘ITTEFAQ’ on PTC Punjabi on 26th April at 8pm

PTC Box Office latest presentation ‘Ittefaq’ is about how young generation is abandoning their elderly parents. Today parents are being ignored, abused by their children more than ever. Rajesh Bhatia’s directorial is based on this harsh reality.

Dr. Jaspinder Kaur is a cardiologist who practices in a polyclinic built by her father Dr. Paramjit Singh recently. Dr. Paramjit Singh himself is a famous gynaecologist.

A well to do young businessman Akshay brings his father Sham Prasad for check-up. As the symptoms and preliminary check-up indicate a heart ailment, Sham Prasad is admitted for detailed investigations. He is accompanied by his wife Savita in the private ward because Akshay has to attend to his business activities. Akshay’s wife Suman despises her in laws and sees them as a burden and finds it difficult even to pack tiffin for her mother-in-law.

Sham Prasad is diagnosed with a serious heart problem for which he must go for a bypass surgery. When Akshay is told this thing, he inquires about the expenditures involved and the estimates make him jittery. At home, his wife Suman further consolidates his line of thinking. Spending such a hefty amount will be a sheer wastage. At its best it will fetch just a few years’ lease of life to the old man.
