PTC Punjabi Beats Star Plus, Sony TV To Claim No 1 Spot In UK Ratings

After becoming the third most watched channel in UK on Diwali, World’s No 1 Punjabi Entertainment channel, PTC Punjabi claimed the top spot in UK ratings on November 17 by beating channels like Star Plus and Sony TV. According to a report published in BizAsiaLive.com, PTC Punjabi took a comfortable lead in ratings to sit at the top of the table.

“PTC Punjabi scored victory over its rivals with its daytime output between midday and 18:00 attracting an average of 35,000 viewers,” BizAsiaLive.com reported.

PTC Punjabi, known for telecasting Live Gurbani from Amritsar’s Harmandir Sahib and reality shows like ‘Mr Punjab’ and ‘Miss PTC Punjabi’ among others, topped the table for the first time with 0.14% share.

Earlier, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, PTC Punjabi witnessed a huge jump in its ratings in UK market and it came joint third with Sony Entertainment Television, behind Star Plus and Star Gold, with a share of 0.08%.

PTC Punjabi was launched in February 2013 in the UK. The Punjabi entertainment is available free-to-air on SKY Digital.

PTC Punjabi UK showcases mixture of music, religious, reality TV and dramas to entertain whole family. Besides talent shows, the channel also broadcasts blockbuster Punjabi movies during weekends.

Meanwhile, PTC Punjabi’s biggest reality show ‘Mr Punjab 2018’ was concluded on November 17. Chandigarh’s Avneet Singh won the title along with Rs 1 lakh prize money and a trophy. The evenbt was held at Mohali.

Punjabi actress Sargun Mehta, former WWE wrestler The Great Khali were the special guests on the occasions.

Now, the channel is gearing up for PTC Music Awards. The awards are scheduled to be held on December 8.
