PTC PUNJABI WEEKLY REVIEW: 'ITTEFAQ' IS SURPRISINGLY INTENSE AND GRIPPING By Parkash Deep Singh 05 Nov 2017 | Updated On 05 Nov 2017 10:22 IST in Entertainment News Latest Reviews New Update Advertisment One aspect that differentiates a Crime/Suspense film from regular Drama is the fact that suspense is seldom average. In case of crime/suspense, the director’s job is extra challenging because he either makes a terrific film that keeps the audience on their toes till the very last scene or he ends up making a blunder where the audience can easily deduce the theory without having to watch it all through the end. Advertisment Ittefaq, though, comes under the former. Sidharth malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna starrer is surprisingly intense and gripping and keeps the audience guessing till the very end about who the killer is. In an attempt to escape from Police who suspects him of murdering his wife, UK based novelist Vikram Sethi (Sidharth Malhotra) ends up at Maya’s (Sonakshi Sinha) house where, followed by a sequence of events, another murder (Maya’s Husband) takes place. Then enters Dev (Akshaye Khanna), the Police Officer, who hears two different versions of the same event from Vikram Sethi and Maya. Advertisment Director Abhay Chopra has done a commendable job for weaving a complicated story while he makes sure that in the end, all dots do connect. Akshaye Khanna steals the show as Police officer Dev who’s trying to interpret two different renditions of an event. While at some point, you may feel that you’ve guessed the killer but rest assured that director Abhay Chopra has something in his kitty to make you gape in awe till the very end. Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha add to the suspense as both manage to portray themselves as innocent, giving the audience a little room for making their own theories. Hindi Film Industry is not known for making great Whodunnits and that’s where ‘Ittefaq’ feels nice. Watch it for Akshaye Khanna’s superb comeback and the intense mystery that lurks around till the very end. #ptc-punjabi #sonakshi-sinha #hindi-film-industry #ptc-punjabi-weekly-review #akshaye-khanna #sidharth-malhotra #ittefaq-movie-review Subscribe to our Newsletter!
