Punjab Mail: Here Are Some Surprising Facts About Mohammed Rafi

The audience will get to know some interesting facts about one of India's greatest singers, Mohammed Rafi in today’s episode of Punjabi Mail only on PTC Network’s new channel PTC Punjabi Gold.

During his illustrious career, Mohammed Rafi has lent his voice to Bollywood megastars including Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra and Dev Anand among others.

Born on December 24, 1924, legendary singer Mohammad Rafi is known for giving hit songs like ‘Baharon Phool Barsao’, ‘Kya Hua Tera Wada’, ‘Ye Duniya Ye Mahfil’, ‘O Meri Mehbooba’ and ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko’ among many others.

He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award by the Indian government.

The singer breathed his last on July 31, 1980 while he was 55. He died due to heart attack.
