Superstar Rajinikanth has claimed that nearly Rs. 600 crore has been spent on his upcoming film ‘2.0’, which also stars Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. The makers launched the trailer during a gala event.
Rajinikanth revealed the details during the trailer launch of the film in Chennai on November 3.
“Mark my words, the film will be a super hit. Advance wishes to Shankar and Lyca Productions. Nearly Rs. 600 crore has been spent on the film. The film wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Lyca,” Rajinikanth said.
“This is not a Rajinikanth film. The money has been spent on one man Shankar, who has never failed to entertain audiences. This is his vision and I laud Lyca Productions for backing him,” he added.
While Rajinikanth plays a scientist and a robot in the film, Akshay is playing a role of an evil scientist. The actor said that he is honoured to be a part of a Rajinikanth starrer.
“I am so honoured to be here. I can’t explain my feelings. I can’t thank Shankar sir enough for the opportunity. And Subaskaran, big thanks,” said Akshay Kumar at the trailer launch.
‘2.0’ has been directed by Shankar, who had also helmed the 2010 hit Enthiran. The film will release on November 29, 2018.
