Rishi Kapoor Opens Up About Fighting Cancer, Says ‘My Fans Prayers Worked’

Bollywood’s veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has finally opened up about his fight with cancer. In late 2018, Rishi Kapoor left his worldwide fans in suspense after he flew to New York with his wife Neetu Singh for a medical treatment for an undisclosed illness. The actor has now reveled that he was having cancer and he is now cancer-free.

While talking to Deccan Chronicle, Rishi said: “My eighth month of treatment started on May 1 in the US. But God has been kind! I am in remission, meaning now I am cancer-free. I will have to do a bone marrow transplant, which in all probability should take another two months minimum. Being in remission is a big thing and it’s all because of my family and my fans prayers and duas that have worked. I thank them all.”

While undergoing medical treatment, Rishi kept on sharing his pictures from USA, but he never disclosed about the illness he is going through.

In September 2018, The 66-year-old actor tweeted: “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years ‘plus’ of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon.”
